At the end of last year, I had the privilege to give a talk on defensive driving at an event organised by the Uganda Red Cross. The event was to; one, promote the use of seat belts and crash helmets and; two, to give an award to the best driver of the year. I was encouraged by the turn out and by organisations such as the Uganda Police and UTODA having a major role to play in the event.

On Sunday, the 18th of May, 2003, OnCourse in conjunction with the Rhino Fund is organising THE RHINO STAMPEDE, a day full of fun and challenges for 4x4 teams! The event will happen at our 4WD course in Kajjansi. Obstacles and team events include the Divorce Derby, the Balance Beam, Off-Road Skills Trail, Mud Run, Wheel Change Competition, Pull The Mini Out Of The Water!!!
Costs are 200,000/= per 4WD (limited to 40 cars) and 20,000/= per participant (max. 4 per car) which caters for food, drinks, T-shirt and raffle ticket. Many prices to be won! Proceeds will go to the Rhino Fund Uganda for construction of the breeding sanctuary in Nakasongola district.

Carjacking, generally, world-wide seems to be on the rise. The recently released FBI report points to improved anti-theft devises as the cause. As it becomes more difficult to steal a car without the keys, the criminal is looking for other opportunities.
