Newsletter: September 2003

Dear Reader,

Below are just a few of the new articles available online. Lots of new developments in the last few months. First, we have just purchased 20 acres near Ssisa and have begun development. We expect it to be ready for use by November 1st, 2003. This will be the largest off-road defensive driving track on the continent!

Also, if you can get your hands on a copy of the Land Rover World Magazine (September 2003 Issue), there is a 2 page spread about OnCourse and some great photos of our training.

About Axle Wind-Up
About Axle Wind-Up
With the rainy season upon us in force - I expect a lot of people with 4X4 vehicles have been selecting 4wd; especially, those who live on the outskirts of Kampala and up country, where the roads can be bad, if not seemingly impassable, at times. When you do select 4wd, make sure your vehicle does not suffer from extreme axle windup as this can cause expensive damage.
FAQ: Do I need a 4wd for Uganda?
FAQ: Do I need a 4wd for Uganda?
A: It depends on what you intend to do. If you are based in Kampala and only going on safari once a year then a two wheel drive vehicle will suffice. You can always hire out a 4wd. The main roads in Kampala are mostly tarmac although can be potholed.
