Driving Courses Designed For African Roads

OnCourse Driving Newsletter - Issue: January 2005

Dear Reader,
Happy New Year. Just letting you know our web site has been updated with new driving articles. FYI, I have also attached our Uganda training schedule for the next two months below; these dates are flexible - if you get a group together we will be able to put in additional dates to suit your schedule.

2004 was a very busy year for us. I was really pleased at the number of organisations, worldwide, that have been recognising the importance /benefits in training staff to correctly handle their 4wd's. We have now had a number of organisations remark that since carrying out road safety training, they have seen their insurance claims reduced and a considerable reduction in maintenance costs.

2004 also gave me the opportunity to further my professional development by attending the BSR Security Driving /Police Train-the-Trainer programme in West Virginia, USA. A 5-day intensive programme honed driving skills and training techniques. Continuance training is an important aspect of every drivers' development and instructors are no exception.

Finally, if you have any topics you would like to see covered in Kampala Eye magazine or on our web site, please drop me a line.

But recently I went to look at a vehicle for an organisation and the battery was flat. Not surprised; but what happened next did give me a bit of a start!! Instead of changing the battery over the "mechanic" turned the donor battery upside down and then attempted to connect the terminals directly. I was shocked into immobility. Read More >>
