Announcing 2006 Rhino Stampede
Announcing 2006 Rhino Stampede
The next Rhino Stampede /4x4 Challenge is set for May 6, 2006. The event is organised and managed by the Rhino Fund of Uganda with technical support from OnCourse. As the Ziwa Sanctuary is operational, we are looking into the possibility of holding the event on-site. Rather then making it a one day event at our Ssisa facility, it would be at Ziwa and over a weekend. I would be interested in any comments or preferences either way.
If you would like to be a sponsor, volunteer, book your slot, or have any questions /suggestions, please contact Yvonne Verkaik. If you would like to marshal or need technical information relating to the event, please contact us.
Vehicle Inspections - What to Check
Vehicle Inspections - What to Check
I am often astounded at how few people, attending our training, know how to open their vehicle bonnet (hood), let alone carry out a basic /routine inspection. So, although I have previously written about vehicle checks, I thought this time, I would cover in more detail the what, how to and why's of an inspection.

Vehicle Checklists & Logbooks
Just to let you know, we have a download page on our web site, which may not be very easy to find - it contains links to various documents including vehicle checklists, log books, evaluation forms, which your organisation may find useful.
Course Adapted By US Military - CJTF/HOA
Following a series of vehicle rollovers in January 2005, the Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) decided to implement a vehicle driving programme to improve road safety. With the support and initial training by OnCourse, our 3 day Professional Driving Course, has been adapted by CJTF-HOA into their MVDSC.
