Driving Instructors
We provide "real- life" training in a safe environment for the threats you'll face. It's the only place like it on the continent! -- Mick Farmer, Instructor.
The OCCL team are highly skilled professionals who incorporate their years of knowledge and experience into every aspect of each student's training.
Mick Farmer, as the Company's senior consultant and instructor, has incorporated his extensive experience and driving skills into every aspect of the courses he teaches. His teaching and driving qualifications include successful completion of Duncan's Off-Road (Australia) and Gryphon Groups' (USA) "Train The Trainer" programmes, BSR's ( USA) Security /Police Driver Instructor course and the Stoof International Armoured Vehicle (Trojan) Security course. Mick is Vetec Workplace Trainer Level IV (Australia)-certified.
Over the past 15 years, Mick has managed mechanical workshops and a fleet of off-road trucks and 4wd's. He spent several years organising and leading food convoys into Southern Sudan through Northern Uganda via Zaire (now D.R.C.). On these trips he was challenged by some of the most impassable road conditions and driving hazards on the continent, including passing through insecure, unstable areas.
Working alongside drivers from that region gave Mick insight into driving problems and requirements. This understanding is evident in his instruction to local drivers, whom he puts at ease while teaching from a background of "real" credibility and hands-on experience. Mick also ensures that OnCourse students are taught with clear demonstration, positive reinforcement and simplicity, exceeding their expectations and maximising their skill levels.
