4wd Bush Driving Course
Spinning tyres? Losing traction? Then you probably are not using your 4wd to its best capability. This training course introduces you to what makes a 4wd off-road capable and what you can do with a 4wd. Learn to manoeuvre your vehicle at slow and controlled speeds - to give you extra control /reduce the risk of damage by maintaining the vehicle geometric angles when manoeuvring through rough or uneven terrain.
Excessive braking and clutching compromises your ability to control your vehicle on uneven or slippery terrain. This course will teach you to use low-range gears and engine braking to successfully traverse obstacles in a controlled and steady manner.
Driving Course Modules Include:
- Introduction to different 4wd Systems; accessories and equipment available on the market and their pros and cons, correctly engaging and disengaging 4wd.
- Understanding torque vs. power.
- Wheel printing exercises (learning to read the road and placing your wheels in the correct place to traverse terrain).
- Stall-recovery techniques (recovery from a failed climb without using your clutch).
- Ascending steep, muddy & washed-out roads; descending steep and muddy inclines.
- Driving through mud and traversing obstacles.
