4wd Counter Car-Jacking Course
The threat is real! Arm yourself with the necessary techniques to: recognise the situation before it happens; avoid it (if possible); and finally how to hand over your vehicle (if necessary).
We place heavy emphasis on car-jacking avoidance through the “proactive mindset.” Awareness is heightened by in-depth discussion of actual incidents and pre-incident indicators. Drivers will receive valuable behind-the-wheel practice to use evasive driving skills, which are then tested during role-playing scenarios.
Driving Course Modules Include:
- Carjacking profile; car-jackers profile & how they target, the threat as is.
- Developing a pro-active mindset; avoidance through awareness, the individual’s awareness of responsive conditions, the individual’s recognition of the need to respond.
- Carry out effective threat and risk assessment and analysis; levels of awareness, the decision making process.
- Route planning; identifying choke points, alternative routes and safe havens.
- Countering ambushes; understanding different types of set-ups (overtaking hit, 1-man and 2-man blind hit, box-in hit, bump-and-rob hit, illegal vehicle check point hit, etc.)
- Understanding the effects of survival stress and your reaction to an ambush.
- Avoid or comply; assessment, code considerations, procedures for giving up your vehicle.
