Field Security Awareness Training
Security MUST be a priority and workers MUST be prepared! In a world where field personnel are increasingly coming under threat from accidents and incidents alike, this course teaches avoidance through awareness by effectively adopting the proactive mindset.
Drivers and passengers of project vehicles, including managers, learn together to work as a team in order to successfully identify, avoid, and /or counter threats albeit from a driving hazard or vehicle and occupant security threat point of view.
This well-rounded course arms field personnel with basic training in 4wd operation, security driving, and the intelligence necessary to avoid rather than to escape threats!
Driving Course Modules Include:
Day 1: Introduction to 4wd Driving
- Introduction to 4wd Systems; correctly engaging and disengaging 4wd.
- Identify and handle the differing driving hazards that specifically relate to rural environments in developing countries.
- Understanding safe stopping distances; road /camber and its negative effects; to avoid /correct skids.
- Emergency and controlled braking exercises.
Day 2&3: Introduction to Security Driving
- Developing a pro-active mindset; avoidance through awareness.
- Carry out effective threat and risk assessment and analysis; levels of awareness, the decision making process.
- Route planning; identifying choke points, alternative routes and safe havens.
- Understanding the effects of survival stress and your reaction to an ambush.
- Basic steps to “hardening up” your vehicle for driving through insecure areas.
- Effectively handle and negotiate through road blocks /check points.
- How to react, cover, and evacuate when caught in crossfire.
- Countering ambushes; understanding different types of set-ups, identifying killing zones and how to avoid them
