Protective Driving (Evasive Driving)
Develop a conditioned response! In these dangerous times of escalating threats, ambushes, and road crashes, security must be a priority and the minimal cost to obtain it must be understood as a critical investment in survival.
In this best-selling, intensive “situation-specific” driving course, you will develop threat recognition and protective /evasive driving skills; learn to successfully identify, avoid, and /or counter the threat. This training takes place on sealed and unsealed roads.
You will learn to handle your 4wd on different surfaces; so, no matter what the conditions, you will react quickly and effectively to get out alive. When targeted you will mostly encounter incidents when driving your 4wd on an unsealed road surface, where your best skills will be required to keep you and your passengers safe.
4wd High-Range is a prerequisite for this course and is offered free as a 1st-day add-on. This is to ensure that a driver fully understands how to operate and handle a 4wd on an unsealed road.
Driving Course Modules Include:
- Day 1: 4wd Defensive Driving (High Range)
- Day 2: Developing The Right Attitude & Awareness: Introduction to and development of the proactive mindset. Emphasis is put on planning, decision making, and risk and threat analysis /recognition. Driving skills are assessed and corrected to ensure correct vehicle handling and control for evasive and responsive driving.
- Day 3: Preparing to Protect Yourself: Route analysis and planning. Surveillance detection. Pre-incident indicators. Protective /Evasive driving skills are built up to a stage to ensure accuracy, consistency, and a conditioned response to a given situation.
- Day 4: Getting Out Alive and Well: Understanding and countering car-jacking and ambushes. Driving skills and drills are further developed through hands-on practice in “real life” scenarios. Vehicle /barricade ramming. Understanding /countering surveillance, ambushes, and car-jackings. Understanding awareness levels and survival stress. Basic steps to “hardening up” your vehicle for driving through insecure areas. How to react, cover, and evacuate when caught in crossfire.
