 Protective Driving - Refresher

Keep awareness and reaction times sharp. Refresh protective driving skills at least every 18 months. This training takes place on sealed roads. You will learn to handle your 4wd to ensure you will react quickly and effectively. This course includes our one day Protective Driving - 4wd Add-On Course.

You must have successfully completed a protective driving course in the last 24 months.

Driving Course Modules Include:

  • Local threats and trends.
  • 4wd mechanical drive train - variations; technical and dynamic exercises.
  • Route planning; identifying choke points, alternative routes, and safe havens.
  • Protective /evasive driving exercises and scenarios on sealed and unsealed road surfaces.

About 4wd vs 2wd Vehicle Handling: Driving a 4wd vehicle effectively requires special techniques that need to be learnt and practiced. Incorrect use of an off-road vehicle can increase your maintenance costs considerably and under certain road conditions be life-threatening.
