Kampala, UGANDA - November 18, 2002 - OCUL Web site Wins WeB Pix Award. The On Course Uganda Limited web site (www.OnCourse4wd.com) has received the WeB Pix Award for Excellence from Beeline Publications.
The publisher termed the OCUL web site a "reader-friendly site easy to navigate, attractive, full of great content, and a great service to the internet community." It was one of only five WeB Pix Awards given in October 2002.
Since 1998, the Beehive Awards for web excellence have been given out by Beeline Productions of Indiana. This is a voluntary service provided to encourage and promote Web excellence. Some of this program’s goals are to increase the value of the internet by encouraging useful content development on topics of local, state, and global interest, and reward those who find excellence on the internet.
A score of at least 90 is required to win an award. A completed nomination form is needed to instigate a review for the award. The reviewer then visits a nominated Web title and looks at content, then layout and design (including presentation), graphics, coding and evidence of overall extra effort. Content counts for up to 30 points, layout and design 25 points, graphics 20 points, coding 20 points and extra effort 5 points, with an extra credit of up to 5 points for "magic."
Mick Farmer, Training Director was proud to receive the award. "We have worked hard on our web site to make it accessible to people coming out to Africa. Getting the WeB Pix Award for Excellence is fantastic," he said.
